A slow saunter across the road;
A block of black rock to the untrained eye;
Rambling not afar, we angled right at its path.
We hit break. It halted.
We killed the engine. It waited.
Unhurried, we stood by for the pedestrian to cross.
After an eternity, firm steps resumed sauntering.
Five pairs of eyes followed its sluggish, muddy trail.
Before blending with the forests, it raised its delicate head to look back;
A glint in its eye, a smile on its face, for we had dutifully checked our pace!
In the hustle and bustle, in rushing through, we forget those that soothe us and make us realize that – Life is beautiful!
